Sebastian Haquin is nominated for the Volkskrant Visual Arts Prize 2024

Five artists under the age of 35 have been nominated for the Volkskrant Visual Arts Prize 2024. One of the artists is Sebastian Haquin, a tenant at 24 Borger Street.

An exhibition will be presented at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam from April 6 through June 23 in which the works of the nominees will be on display. Around mid-May, a professional jury will officially announce the winner.

Over Sebastian Haquin, Sebastian Haquin is een kunstschilder die op een originele wijze invulling geeft aan portretten, stillevens en symbolische taferelen. Geboren in Londen, daarna heeft hij zijn kunstopleiding gevolgd in Melbourne, om vervolgens enkele jaren geleden naar Rotterdam te verhuizen. Hij hanteert een techniek waarbij hij zijn olieverfschilderijen in één sessie maakt, zonder de tussenliggende lagen te laten opdrogen. Zijn creatieve inspiratie haalt hij uit dromen en vage herinneringen, die hij vervolgens met behulp van modellen omzet naar het doek.

Exhibition - Reflections in a virtual nature by artist Geert Mul

From April 6 through September 15, 2024, the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam will present the video installation Reflections in a Virtual Nature (Queries in Algorithmic Landscapes) by artist Geert Mul. Geert Mul is a tenant at 20 Ackersdijkstraat.

Experience the intriguing video installation. Geert Mul explains: "My art explores the boundaries between humans, technology and nature. Although to many these are considered separate entities, they are increasingly blurred in the digital age. This philosophical issue is not only fascinating, but essential, especially given the urgent climate crisis. We need to understand how technology affects our connection to nature and learn from it."

Accounts receivable administration changed
