My name is Ineke Hekking, for about 10 years I have been making hand felted objects. By stacking loose hairs from a sheep and then working them with water and soap, a more or less solid substance is created. This transformation fascinates me. The technique can be used to make both 2D and 3D objects. In my current work I am looking for the beauty of the transience of nature. By capturing withered elements of nature in felt and then applying accents I try to preserve nature and enhance its beauty. Since a number of years I am part of the LAC (Land Art Collective), which makes projects for outdoor exhibitions and regularly participates in art routes.
