Marleine van der Werf (NL/ CH, 1985) works as a filmmaker and artist in Rotterdam. In 2010 she graduated from the art academy St. Joost with the surrealist film 'De Perceptionist' (nominated for the René Coelho Prize, NIMK) and the documentary 'Onbegrensd' (a.o. selected for the IDFA Student Competition). In her work she researches ideas about perception, the subconscious and survivability. At the beginning of 2015 she received the Jong Talent (Young Talent) contribution from the Mondriaan Fund and made the multi sensory installation 'Be boy Be girl', which was shown at Art Basel, Fost in New York and Art Show in Los Angeles, among others. At the end of 2016 she made her debut film 'De vrije markt', which was screened at the Dutch film festival.
