Sylvie Overheul has always been quite diverse in her work, but recently she has come to a true deepening both in terms of theme and in the technical field, which can be characterised as magical realism. As she herself says: "As if in the labyrinth of years of practice you suddenly know for sure that you have taken the right path".
Sylvie Overheul (1968) studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. In addition to her free work, she also paints many commissioned portraits.
As an artist she could be seen in TV programmes such as 'stars on the canvas' and 'this is the day' of the EO. Meanwhile, Sylvie has also received several awards and nominations such as the 1st prize (International Pastel Biennale Poland), two years in a row in the finals of painting of the year (2014 and 2015) and was selected for the prestigious BP portrait award London (2015).
