Good work touches on what I can't put into words. During the making I am captivated by the transformation from material to image. An important theme in my work is repeating elements until they form a whole. My jewelry and objects consist of organic forms that are created by working from the inside out and from details to a whole.

Each piece of jewellery or object starts with the stringing of the (mostly antique) beads. Endlessly performing the same action, while the incursions are working, intended structures are released and adapted.

Because of the use of materials, these jewellery and objects have something fragile, feminiens. Behind the beautiful exterior lies tragedy, pain and sorrow. Just as in life, both blossom and decay are present in the work.

After my education at the High School of the Arts in Utrecht, I moved back to Rotterdam. Here I work in my studio on a series of jewellery, objects. My work can be seen and purchased at various galleries and is purchased by museums (including the Museum of Modern Art in Arnhem), collectors and private individuals. I also work on commission.
